A revolution for esports

esportsUK entertainment production outfit Attention Seekers – think, The Boot Room FIFA video game show, the Xbox Upload video channel along with mini-series Dead Space – has joined forces with US events firms Done + Dusted to launch AD+D, a platform for esports. The new outfit will look to bring competitive gaming more into the mainstream. AD+D will provide a one-stop shop for clients seeking the planning and production of live gaming events and will operate out of a US West Coast so that it can more easily work with games companies and broadcasters.

AD+D aims to use its specialist knowledge to give broadcasters more confidence in commissioning content around competitive gaming.

Attention Seekers says gaming has emerged as a live spectator sport and that it is time to take it to a bigger stage by showcasing esports “in revolutionary new formats, in compelling environments, and broadcast over live television, as well as online.”

Done + Dusted has to date been far less gaming-oriented than Attention Seekers but it does have the cred to take things big, having handled the London 2012 Olympics opening and closing ceremonies, along with major tours for U2 and Katy Perry.
